Dear Friends,

It is true that North Wales is a superb place to have a traditional Christmas break, especially as I look out of my bedroom window and see the Glyders dusted with the first snow of the season. So if you have not yet decided where to spend Christmas and or New Year you can be assured of a great seasonal welcome and unlike previous years even at this late time there are still a few places with vacancies (check www.breaksnorthwales.co.uk for any special deals). However, winter in North Wales is magical time even after the festive activities. The beauty of North Wales does not have a “must go” time like some other locations because the natural beauty puts on a different show throughout the year. The crystal clean air of the Snowdonia mountains, the frosted forests of the Conwy Valley, or the wide open beaches of Anglesey and the North Wales coastal towns do not need large numbers of people to give them that special atmosphere. So the quiet period after the New Year is a perfect time to experience the calming restorative power of nature. A log fire and a leisurely drink in one of the many Inns and pubs could be just the job to complete the post festive mental detox.
